Time to Upgrade Your Building? Storefront Grant Funding is Here

Storefront grant funding is here for now, but not forever.

If you are ready or even considering improvements on your commercial building, contact St. Johns Center for Opportunity. Their matching grant program, supported by the Portland Development Commission, awards businesses with funds for storefront improvement projects in the downtown St. Johns urban renewal area.

Applicants may request funds of between $250 and $2,500 and must be the owner or have at least two years left on their lease or permission of the owner. Qualifying project examples include improvements to the interior or exterior of buildings such as painting, lighting, signage, awning removal or replacement, planters, and other “sticks and bricks” projects.

All applications due by February 5th. Since 2014, St. Johns Center for Opportunity has invested more than $70,000 in storefront improvement projects in downtown St. Johns.
