Family owned and operated, Art of STEM is run by passionate former educators and engineers that believe everyone should have access to the knowledge, experience, and opportunities associated with STEM education.
STEM education integrates concepts that are usually taught as separate subjects in different classes (science, technology, engineering, art/design, and mathematics) and emphasizes the application of knowledge to real-life situations. A STEM lesson is typically based around finding a solution to a real-world problem and emphasizes project-based learning.
The best part is that STEM is FUN! Kids enjoy being challenged and coming up with original ideas.
They like building and making things with their hands. They enjoy listening to or reading a story that connects to what they’re learning. They are interested in the fact that a lot of artistic and creative endeavors require math. They love the beauty in science, and they love the confidence that comes with knowing and experiencing these things first hand.
We’re excited to be a part of St. Johns. After moving to Portland, the Art of STEM team chose to put down roots in St. Johns Because of its “Small Town in a Big City” vibe. We are impressed by its thriving and active community.
We want to give back to the community in which we live. Please stop by and see us!
