What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a fitness regimen based around core movements performed in high intensity workouts. These movements mimic aspects of gymnastics, olympic weightlifting, and running, among many others. Workouts will maximize the functional movements of the body, while intensity increases power output. Due to the repeatable and recordable nature of CrossFit workouts, one’s physical growth can be easily measured.
Along with the physical aspect of CrossFit, education and community are valued as well. Workouts are performed in groups, with coaches and trainers supporting each individual. The end result is an empowering culture of competition and camaraderie.

We want to fuel a revolution in fitness that advocates the pursuit of function, not form – that measures performance, not anatomy. We want rings and bumper plates in our gyms, not machines. We believe that where you train is less important than how you train, and who you train with matters more than what gear you have. We know this can be done in little boxes and we’ve proven that the garage is as good an environment as any.
Greg Glassman, CrossFit founder, and CEO
We are a box in the St. John’s neighborhood. We believe that fitness and family go hand in hand – that the best physical breakthrough happens in the context of relational reinforcement. That said, our culture is one that values hard work and a supportive community above all else.
